A visual novel (ビジュアルノベル bijuaru noberu, also known as a sound novel) is an interactive fiction game[1] featuring mostly static anime-style graphics, or occasionally live-action stills or video footage.[2] As the name might suggest, they resemble mixed-media novels or tableau vivant stage plays.
